Homemade pepperoni garlic bread
Ingredients:
- 1 French baguette or Italian bread loaf
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 20-25 slices of pepperoni
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Bread: Slice the bread loaf in half lengthwise and place the two halves cut-side up on a baking sheet.
- Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
- Spread the Garlic Butter: Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Add Cheese and Pepperoni: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the garlic butter layer. Then, place the pepperoni slices evenly over the cheese layer.
- Bake the Garlic Bread: Place the baking sheet with the prepared garlic bread in the preheated oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are crispy.
- Serve Hot: Once done, remove the garlic bread from the oven. Let it cool for a minute or two, then slice it into pieces and serve hot.
- Optional: You can serve the garlic bread with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
