🍋 Homemade Lemon Powder

🍋 Homemade Lemon Powder

Ingredients

  • Fresh lemons (as many as you like)

Instructions

  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly.

    • Scrub them to remove any wax or residue.

  2. Peel the lemons.

    • Use a peeler or zester to remove only the yellow part of the peel (avoid the white pith—it’s bitter).

  3. Dry the peels.

    • Option 1: Oven drying

      • Place peels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

      • Bake at lowest oven setting (about 90°C / 200°F) for 1–2 hours, until completely dry and crisp.

    • Option 2: Air drying

      • Spread peels out on a tray in a dry, sunny spot for 2–3 days, turning occasionally.

    • Option 3: Dehydrator

      • Set to 95°F / 35°C for 6–8 hours.

  4. Grind into powder.

    • Once the peels are fully dry, grind them in a spice grinder, blender, or coffee grinder until fine.

  5. Store.

    • Keep in an airtight jar (like the one in your image).

    • Store in a cool, dark place—it will last up to a year.
