Crispy Air Fryer Cauliflower

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional but recommended)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Optional Batter (for extra crispy coating)

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup milk (or plant-based milk)

  • Pinch of salt


👩‍🍳 Instructions


1️⃣ Prep the Cauliflower

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the cauliflower florets.

  2. Make sure pieces are similar size for even cooking.


2️⃣ Choose Your Coating Style

🔹 Simple Crispy (No Batter – Lighter Version)

  1. Toss florets with olive oil.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. Coat cauliflower evenly in breadcrumb mixture.

🔹 Extra Crispy (Battered Version)

  1. Whisk flour, milk, and salt to create a smooth batter.

  2. Dip each floret into batter, letting excess drip off.

  3. Roll in breadcrumb mixture to coat completely.


3️⃣ Air Fry

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  2. Arrange cauliflower in a single layer (do not overcrowd).

  3. Cook for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway through.

  4. For extra crispiness, cook an additional 2–3 minutes at 400°F (200°C).

Cauliflower should be golden brown and crispy on the edges.


4️⃣ Serve

  • Sprinkle with extra Parmesan or fresh parsley.

  • Serve with ranch, garlic aioli, spicy mayo, or marinara sauce.

  • Add a squeeze of lemon for brightness.


💡 Flavor Variations

  • Buffalo Style: Toss cooked cauliflower in buffalo sauce and air fry 2 more minutes.

  • Honey Garlic: Drizzle with honey and soy-garlic glaze after cooking.

  • Spicy Cajun: Replace paprika with Cajun seasoning.

  • Vegan Option: Skip Parmesan or use plant-based cheese.
