Greek Chicken Gyro Wrap Bowl with Spicy Garlic Feta
A fresh, flavor-packed Mediterranean bowl inspired by classic Greek gyros — served bowl-style for easy meals or meal prep.
🧄 Ingredients
🍗 Chicken Gyro Marinade
1 ½ lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
3 tbsp olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp ground coriander
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
🍚 Bowl Base
2 cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice (or quinoa)
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cucumber, diced
¼ red onion, thinly sliced
½ cup kalamata olives
½ cup crumbled feta
Fresh parsley or dill
🌶 Spicy Garlic Feta Sauce
1 cup feta cheese (block in brine works best)
½ cup Greek yogurt
2 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1–2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp hot sauce or ½ tsp red pepper flakes
2–3 tbsp water (to thin as needed)
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Marinate the Chicken
Whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar, garlic, and spices.
Add chicken and marinate at least 30 minutes (overnight gives best flavor).
2️⃣ Cook the Chicken
Grill: 5–7 minutes per side
OR Pan-sear: Medium-high heat until internal temp reaches 165°F
Let rest 5–10 minutes, then slice thinly.
3️⃣ Make the Spicy Garlic Feta
Blend feta, yogurt, olive oil, garlic, lemon, and spice until smooth.
Add water gradually until creamy and drizzle-able.
4️⃣ Assemble the Bowl
Layer in this order:
Rice
Sliced chicken
Tomatoes, cucumber, onion, olives
Crumbled feta
Generous drizzle of spicy garlic feta sauce
Fresh herbs
Optional: Serve with warm pita on the side.
