Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings
A simple and foolproof recipe for crispy, juicy chicken wings made in the air fryer. You can enjoy them plain, spicy, or tossed in your favorite sauce.
Ingredients (Serves 3–4)
1 kg (2 lbs) chicken wings
1–2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
Optional: ½ tsp cayenne pepper for heat
Optional Sauce Toss
3 tbsp hot sauce (like Frank’s)
1 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp honey (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Wings
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
In a large bowl, toss wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne if using.
2. Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 3–5 minutes.
3. Air Fry the Wings
Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd (cook in batches if needed).
Cook at 200°C (400°F) for 25–28 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Wings should be golden brown and crispy; internal temp should reach 74°C (165°F).
4. Optional Sauce Toss
In a bowl, mix hot sauce, melted butter, and honey.
Toss the cooked wings in the sauce until evenly coated.
5. Serve
Serve hot with celery sticks, carrot sticks, or a dipping sauce like ranch or blue cheese.
Tips
Patting wings dry is key for crispiness.
For extra crispy wings, cook 5 minutes longer at the end.
Try different flavors: garlic parmesan, BBQ, teriyaki, or lemon pepper.
