Crispy Air Fryer Garlic Herb Chicken Breast

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional, for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  • If they are very thick, pound them to about ¾-inch thickness for even cooking.

2. Season

In a small bowl, combine:

  • Garlic powder
  • Minced garlic
  • Onion powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Italian seasoning
  • Dried parsley
  • Thyme
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Parmesan (if using)

Rub the chicken with olive oil, then coat evenly with the seasoning mixture.

3. Air Fry

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • Place the chicken in a single layer in the basket.
  • Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Flip the chicken.
  • Cook another 6–10 minutes, depending on thickness, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

4. Garlic Butter Finish

While the chicken cooks:

  1. Melt the butter.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Mix in the lemon juice.

Brush the garlic butter over the hot chicken immediately after cooking.

5. Rest and Serve

  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve.

Tips for Extra Crispy Chicken

  • Pat the chicken dry before seasoning.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Lightly spray the chicken with cooking oil before air frying.
  • If desired, cook an extra 1–2 minutes at 400°F (205°C) at the end for a crispier exterior, while ensuring the internal temperature does not exceed 165°F (74°C).
