Recipe Ingredients:
- 2 cups (500 ml/16.9 fl oz) of whole milk
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup of vegetable oil
For the filling:
- 7 oz (200 grams) of shredded ham
- 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 7 oz (200 grams) of shredded mozzarella
- Oregano to taste
- 1 can of mixed vegetables
- 3 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- Tomato sauce to taste
- 1 small onion, sliced
Instructions:
In a blender, add the milk, oil, eggs, and salt. Blend until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and gradually add the all-purpose flour, stirring until you have a smooth, liquid batter. Add the baking powder and stir to combine.
Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 15 minutes, just until it begins to set.
Remove from the oven and spread tomato sauce over the partially baked layer. Then add the filling: shredded ham, mixed vegetables, chopped boiled eggs, onion slices, 5 oz (150 grams) of mozzarella, tomato slices, and oregano.
Pour the remaining batter over the filling, sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and oregano.
Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly before unmolding, and serve.
