🥔 Air Fryer Fried Potatoes and Onions
Ingredients:
3 medium russet or Yukon gold potatoes (washed and cut into 1/4-inch slices or cubes)
1 medium yellow or sweet onion (sliced)
1 ½ tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika (optional for color and a mild smoky flavor)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions:
Prep the potatoes and onions:
Slice potatoes evenly for uniform cooking.
Soak the potato slices in cold water for 15–30 minutes (removes excess starch and makes them crispier).
Drain and pat the potatoes dry thoroughly.
Season:
In a large bowl, combine potatoes, onions, oil, and seasonings. Toss until well coated.
Preheat air fryer:
Preheat to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Air fry:
Add the seasoned potatoes and onions to the air fryer basket in an even layer. Don’t overcrowd—cook in batches if needed.
Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Cook until potatoes are golden brown and crispy, and onions are caramelized.
Serve:
Sprinkle with extra salt or fresh herbs if desired.
Great as a side dish with breakfast, burgers, or grilled meats.
🔄 Tips:
Want them crispier? Increase temp to 400°F for the last 3 minutes.
Add bell peppers or sausage chunks for a complete one-basket meal.
Use smoked paprika or Cajun seasoning for a spicy kick.
