Air Fryer Chili Beef
Bold, spicy, and crispy – this chili beef comes together quickly in the air fryer with less oil and all the flavor.
📝 Ingredients:
For the Beef:
1 lb (450 g) beef steak (sirloin or flank), thinly sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or white vinegar)
1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Cooking spray or 1 tbsp neutral oil (e.g., vegetable or avocado)
For the Chili Sauce:
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce or sriracha (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon ketchup (adds a touch of sweetness)
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 fresh red chili, thinly sliced (optional, for extra heat)
2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
🔪 Instructions:
STEP 1: Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, mix sliced beef with soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and cornstarch. Toss to coat evenly.
Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes while you prepare the sauce.
STEP 2: Cook in the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Lightly oil or spray the air fryer basket. Arrange beef slices in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway, until crispy and browned on the edges.
STEP 3: Make the Sauce
In a small pan or skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat.
Sauté garlic, ginger, and fresh chili (if using) for 30 seconds.
Add all sauce ingredients: soy sauce, hoisin, sweet chili sauce, ketchup, and sugar. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
STEP 4: Toss & Serve
Add the air-fried beef to the sauce and toss to coat.
Serve immediately, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
