Air Fryer Fried Potatoes and Onions!

🥔 Air Fryer Fried Potatoes and Onions

Ingredients:

  • 3 medium russet or Yukon gold potatoes (washed and cut into 1/4-inch slices or cubes)

  • 1 medium yellow or sweet onion (sliced)

  • 1 ½ tbsp olive oil or avocado oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika (optional for color and a mild smoky flavor)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prep the potatoes and onions:

    • Slice potatoes evenly for uniform cooking.

    • Soak the potato slices in cold water for 15–30 minutes (removes excess starch and makes them crispier).

    • Drain and pat the potatoes dry thoroughly.

  2. Season:

    • In a large bowl, combine potatoes, onions, oil, and seasonings. Toss until well coated.

  3. Preheat air fryer:

    • Preheat to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  4. Air fry:

    • Add the seasoned potatoes and onions to the air fryer basket in an even layer. Don’t overcrowd—cook in batches if needed.

    • Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Cook until potatoes are golden brown and crispy, and onions are caramelized.

  5. Serve:

    • Sprinkle with extra salt or fresh herbs if desired.

    • Great as a side dish with breakfast, burgers, or grilled meats.

🔄 Tips:

  • Want them crispier? Increase temp to 400°F for the last 3 minutes.

  • Add bell peppers or sausage chunks for a complete one-basket meal.

  • Use smoked paprika or Cajun seasoning for a spicy kick.
