🛒 Ingredients

Garlic Bread

  • 1 large Italian bread loaf or French bread

  • ½ cup butter, softened

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Cheesesteak Filling

  • 1 lb ribeye steak or shaved steak

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Cheese

  • 8 slices provolone cheese
    (or mozzarella / white American)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Garlic Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Slice bread lengthwise, keeping halves intact.

  3. Mix butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.

  4. Spread generously over both cut sides of bread.

  5. Place on a baking sheet and bake 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.


2. Cook the Cheesesteak Filling

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add onions and peppers; sauté 5–6 minutes until softened.

  3. Add steak, garlic powder, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper.

  4. Cook 3–4 minutes, stirring until steak is just cooked.

  5. Remove from heat.


3. Assemble the Loaf

  1. Remove garlic bread from oven.

  2. Spoon steak mixture evenly over the bread halves.

  3. Lay provolone slices on top, covering all the filling.


4. Melt the Cheese

  • Return to oven and bake 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Optional: Broil 1–2 minutes for golden cheese (watch closely).


5. Serve

  • Let rest 2–3 minutes.

  • Slice and serve hot.

  • Extra cheesy: Add mozzarella under the provolone

  • Spicy: Add sautéed jalapeños or red pepper flakes

  • Creamy Philly-style: Spread cheese sauce instead of slices
