🛒 Ingredients:

For the Salad:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)

  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or homemade — see below)

  • 1 medium head of lettuce, chopped (or a bag of shredded lettuce)

  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) kidney beans or black beans, drained and rinsed (optional)

  • 1 cup corn kernels (optional)

  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)

  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion (optional)

  • 2 cups Nacho Cheese Doritos, slightly crushed

For the Dressing:

  • 1 cup Catalina dressing (or French dressing)
    👉 You can also use ranch or a mix of ranch + salsa for a different twist!


👩‍🍳 Directions:

  1. Cook the Meat:
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.
    Drain excess grease, then add the taco seasoning and cook according to the packet instructions (usually with ¼ cup water).
    Let it cool slightly.

  2. Assemble the Salad:
    In a large salad bowl, combine:

    • Chopped lettuce

    • Diced tomatoes

    • Cheese

    • Beans, corn, olives, and onions (if using)

    • Cooled seasoned taco meat

  3. Add Crunch:
    Right before serving, add the crushed Doritos and toss lightly.

  4. Dress It Up:
    Pour the Catalina dressing (start with about ½ cup, then adjust to taste).
    Toss everything together until evenly coated.
