2 cups green peas (fresh or frozen)
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1½ cups milk (whole milk preferred)

1–2 cloves garlic (finely minced, optional)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
4 slices bread (thick-cut, sourdough or country bread works best)

🔪 Prep Steps
Cook the peas
If using fresh peas: boil in salted water for 3–5 minutes until tender.
If using frozen peas: simmer for 2–3 minutes until heated through.
Drain and set aside.
Toast the bread
Heat a pan over medium heat.
Brush bread with olive oil or butter.
Toast until golden and crisp on both sides.
