Garlic Butter Flatbread (Naan Style)

Soft, fluffy, and brushed with rich garlic butter, this easy naan-style flatbread is perfect for dipping, wrapping, or serving with curries, grilled meats, or soups. No tandoor needed—just a skillet!


🛒 Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp instant yeast

  • ¾ cup warm water

  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Garlic Butter

  • 3 tbsp butter, melted

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or parsley

  • Pinch of salt (optional)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the Dough
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm water, yogurt, and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.

2. Knead the Dough
Knead for about 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. If sticky, lightly dust with flour.

3. Let it Rise
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes, or until doubled in size.

4. Divide and Shape
Punch down the dough and divide into 6 equal balls. Roll each ball into an oval or circle about ¼ inch thick.

5. Cook the Flatbread
Heat a skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.
Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side until bubbles form and brown spots appear.

6. Make Garlic Butter
Mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley (or cilantro), and a pinch of salt.

7. Finish the Flatbread
Brush the hot flatbread with the garlic butter mixture and serve warm.
