Healing Miso–Ginger Lemon Detox Broth

This light, nourishing broth is packed with anti-inflammatory, gut-friendly, and immune-supporting ingredients. It’s perfect when you’re feeling run-down, bloated, or just want something warm and cleansing.


🌿 Why It’s “Healing”

📝 Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 4 cups filtered water or vegetable broth

  • 1–2 tablespoons white or yellow miso paste

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Juice of ½–1 lemon (to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or sesame oil

  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms (shiitake or cremini)

  • ½ cup chopped leafy greens (spinach, kale, or bok choy)

  • 2 green onions, sliced

  • Sea salt & black pepper to taste

  • Optional: splash of tamari, pinch of red pepper flakes


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Sauté aromatics:
    In a pot over medium heat, add oil. Sauté garlic and ginger for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. Simmer:
    Add water or broth and mushrooms. Bring to a gentle simmer for 5–7 minutes.

  3. Add greens:
    Stir in leafy greens and cook another 1–2 minutes until wilted.

  4. Add miso (important step):
    Turn off heat. In a small bowl, whisk miso with a ladle of warm broth, then stir back into the pot.
    (Avoid boiling miso to preserve probiotics.)

  5. Finish:
    Add lemon juice, turmeric (if using), green onions, and season to taste.
