🥩 Juicy Steak with Creamy Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
For the steak:
2 ribeye steaks (or sirloin/filet mignon)
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
2–3 garlic cloves, crushed
2–3 sprigs of fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
For the creamy garlic sauce:
1 tbsp butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt & pepper to taste
Optional: 1/4 tsp Dijon mustard or a splash of white wine for extra depth
🔥 Instructions:
1. Prepare the Steak:
Bring steaks to room temperature (about 20–30 minutes out of the fridge).
Pat dry with paper towels, then season generously with salt and pepper.
2. Sear the Steak:
Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet (cast iron works best) over high heat.
Add steaks and sear 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), adding butter, crushed garlic, and herbs halfway through.
Baste the steak with the melted butter and juices.
Remove from pan and let rest for 5–10 minutes under foil.
3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
In the same pan, lower heat to medium.
Add 1 tbsp butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
Stir in cream, Parmesan, and optional Dijon or wine.
Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Serve:
Slice the steak and drizzle with creamy garlic sauce.
Garnish with fresh herbs or cracked pepper.
🍷 Serving Suggestions:
Serve with mashed potatoes, steamed green beans, or roasted asparagus.
A glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot pairs wonderfully.
