Mediterranean Halloumi Wrap with Spicy Hot Honey Feta Sauce 🌯🍯

A flavorful Mediterranean-style wrap filled with crispy halloumi, fresh vegetables, and a creamy sweet-spicy feta sauce.


Ingredients

For the Halloumi

  • 200 g halloumi cheese, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

  • Black pepper to taste

For the Spicy Hot Honey Feta Sauce

  • ½ cup feta cheese, crumbled

  • 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1½ tablespoons honey

  • ½–1 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 1 small garlic clove, minced

For the Wrap

  • 2 large flatbreads or tortillas

  • 1 cup lettuce or arugula

  • ½ cucumber, sliced

  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • ¼ red onion, thinly sliced

  • ½ avocado, sliced (optional)


Instructions

1. Prepare the Spicy Hot Honey Feta Sauce

  1. In a small bowl combine:

    • feta cheese

    • Greek yogurt

    • olive oil

    • honey

    • chili flakes

    • lemon juice

    • minced garlic

  2. Mash or blend until smooth and creamy.

  3. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if needed.

  4. Set aside.


2. Cook the Halloumi

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  2. Sprinkle halloumi slices with paprika, oregano, and black pepper.

  3. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.


3. Warm the Wraps

Lightly warm tortillas or flatbreads in a pan for 20–30 seconds to make them soft and flexible.


4. Assemble the Wrap

  1. Spread a generous layer of spicy hot honey feta sauce on the wrap.

  2. Add lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and red onion.

  3. Place crispy halloumi slices on top.

  4. Add avocado slices if using.

  5. Drizzle extra sauce over the filling.


5. Wrap and Serve

  1. Fold the sides inward.

  2. Roll tightly to form a wrap.

  3. Slice in half and serve immediately.


Optional Add-Ons

  • Kalamata olives

  • Roasted red peppers

  • Pickled onions

  • Fresh herbs like parsley or mint


Tips for Extra Flavor

  • Grill the wrap for 1–2 minutes after rolling for a crispy exterior.

  • Add hummus or tzatziki for an even richer Mediterranean flavor.

  • Use pita bread instead of tortillas for a traditional style.
