Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, these salmon patties are quick to make in the air fryer and perfect as a healthy snack, appetizer, or main course.

Ingredients

For the Salmon Patties

  • 400 g canned salmon (drained, skin and bones removed) or cooked fresh salmon, flaked

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1–2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating if desired)

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or Greek yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1–2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • Cooking spray or a little olive oil (for air fryer)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Salmon Mixture

  1. In a bowl, combine:

    • Flaked salmon

    • Onion

    • Garlic

    • Egg

    • Breadcrumbs

    • Mayonnaise

    • Dijon mustard

    • Lemon juice

    • Paprika

    • Salt, pepper, and parsley

  2. Mix gently until everything is well combined.

2. Form Patties

  1. Shape the mixture into 4–6 small patties, about 2–3 inches in diameter.

  2. Optional: lightly coat the outside with breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.

3. Preheat Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3–5 minutes.

4. Cook the Patties

  1. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with olive oil.

  2. Place patties in a single layer, leaving space between them.

  3. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

5. Serve

  • Serve hot with:

    • Lemon wedges

    • Tartar sauce or yogurt dill sauce

    • Side salad or roasted vegetables

Tips

  • For extra flavor, add chopped capers, dill, or green onions to the mixture.

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed.

  • Patties can be made ahead and refrigerated for 1 day before air frying.
