1 (4–6 lb) bone-in prime rib roast (standing rib roast)
2 tbsp kosher salt
1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
4–5 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil or softened butter

Resting time before roasting: 1–2 hours
