🥓 Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1½–2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • Optional toppings: pickles, green onions, extra bacon

🔥 Instructions

  1. Cook bacon
In a large skillet or pot over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving about 1 tbsp bacon grease in the pan.

  2. Brown beef
Add ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess grease if needed.

  3. Add aromatics
Stir in onion and garlic. Cook 2–3 minutes until softened.

  4. Add rice & liquids
Stir in rice, beef broth, milk, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  5. Simmer
Bring to a gentle boil, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer 18–20 minutes, stirring once or twice, until rice is tender.

  6. Add cheese & bacon
Remove from heat. Stir in shredded cheese and cooked bacon until melted and creamy.

  7. Serve
Top with pickles, green onions, or extra cheese if desired.
