🛒 Ingredients

Dry

  • 2 cups certified gluten-free rolled oats

  • ½ cup almond flour (or oat flour)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

Wet

  • ⅓ cup maple syrup or honey

  • ¼ cup melted coconut oil or butter

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce

Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup finely diced apple (peeled or unpeeled)

  • ½ cup raisins

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.

  2. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  3. Whisk wet ingredients in a separate bowl until smooth.

  4. Combine wet + dry ingredients. Fold in apples and raisins.
Batter will be thick and slightly sticky.

  5. Press mixture firmly into the prepared pan (this helps the bars hold together).

  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until edges are golden and center is set.

  7. Cool completely in the pan (very important), then slice.

🔥 Pro Tips

  • For softer bars: add 1–2 tbsp more applesauce

  • For crunch: sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans on top

  • For extra sweetness: drizzle with maple glaze after baking

  • Want them vegan? Replace egg with a flax egg (1 tbsp flax + 2½ tbsp water)
