Sliced Tomato with Salt & Pepper

A simple, refreshing classic that proves how good quality ingredients don’t need much. Juicy ripe tomatoes, a pinch of salt, and fresh cracked pepper—light, clean, and naturally flavorful.

Servings

1–2 servings (easily scalable)

Time

  • Prep: 5 minutes
  • Total: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2–3 ripe tomato, sliced
  • ¼ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: drizzle of olive oil

Instructions

1. Slice the Tomatoes

Slice the tomato into even rounds or wedges, depending on preference.

2. Season

Arrange slices on a plate and sprinkle with:

  • salt

Let sit for 2–3 minutes so the salt slightly enhances the natural juices.

3. Optional Finish

  • a drizzle of olive oil
  • dried oregano or fresh basil

4. Serve

Serve immediately as a side dish, snack, or light starter.

Flavor Profile

Tips for Best Results

  • Use fully ripe, in-season tomatoes for best flavor
