Total Time: 22 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) salmon fillets, divided
  • 1 lb (450 g) asparagus, woody ends trimmed
  • 2 tbsp vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1½ tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (such as Sriracha)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3–4 tbsp butter, cut into small cubes
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Lemon slices, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut two large sheets of aluminum foil and place them on a work surface.
  2. Mix the broth, lemon juice, and hot sauce in a small bowl.
  3. Season the salmon with salt and pepper. Place each fillet in the center of a foil sheet and arrange the asparagus alongside it.
  4. Sprinkle the minced garlic over the salmon and asparagus. Drizzle generously with the lemon-broth mixture.
  5. Divide the butter pieces between the packets, placing them over the salmon and asparagus.
  6. Fold and tightly crimp the foil edges, leaving a little space inside for the heat to circulate.
  7. Place the packets on a baking sheet and bake for 9–12 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through.
  8. Carefully open the packets. Drizzle with additional lemon juice and garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and lemon slices. Serve immediately.

Tip: For slightly crispier edges, open the foil packets and broil for about 2 minutes at the end.
