🛒 Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold work best)

  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

  • ½ tsp dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)

🔪 Instructions

1. Prep the Potatoes

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes well.

  2. Place one potato between two wooden spoons or chopsticks.

  3. Slice thin cuts across the potato (about ⅛ inch apart), stopping before cutting all the way through.
The spoons prevent cutting through completely.

2. Season

  1. In a small bowl, mix olive oil (or butter), garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and herbs.

  2. Brush the mixture generously over the potatoes, making sure it gets into the slices.

3. Air Fry

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Place potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

  3. Cook for 15 minutes.

  4. Remove basket and brush with more oil/butter.

  5. Return to air fryer and cook another 15–20 minutes, until crispy outside and tender inside.

4. Add Cheese (Optional)

  • Sprinkle Parmesan over the potatoes during the last 3–5 minutes of cooking.

5. Garnish & Serve

  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley or chives.

  • Serve hot with sour cream, garlic yogurt sauce, or ketchup.

⭐ Tips for Best Results

  • Smaller potatoes cook more evenly.

  • If slices aren’t opening, gently fan them out with a fork halfway through cooking.

  • For extra crispiness, lightly spray with oil at the end.
