SERVINGS4

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags or loose leaf tea
  • 1 large apple thinly sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 inch fresh ginger grated
  • 1/4 cup honey or to taste
  • ice cubes for the iced version
  • Additional apple slices and cinnamon sticks for garnish optional

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, remove from heat, add the tea bags, and let steep for about 5 minutes.
  • After steeping, remove the tea bags. Add the thinly sliced apple, cinnamon sticks, and grated ginger to the hot tea. Allow the mixture to steep for an additional 10 minutes to infuse the flavors. Stir in honey while the tea is still warm.
  • Remove the cinnamon sticks (you can leave the apple slices for added flavor and presentation). If you are making the hot version, it’s ready to be served now!
  • For the iced version, let the tea cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate until cold. Next, fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled tea over the ice, ensuring there are some apple slices in each glass. Garnish with a fresh apple slice and a cinnamon stick in each glass!
