Banana Pudding Dessert Cups
Ingredients (Makes 6–8 cups)
For the Pudding Layer
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 package (3.4 oz / 96 g) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Layers
- 2–3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1½ cups vanilla wafer cookies or shortbread cookies, crushed
- ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Make the Pudding
- In a bowl, whisk together the cold milk and instant pudding mix for 2 minutes.
- Let stand for 5 minutes until thickened.
2. Prepare the Whipped Cream
- In another bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture.
3. Assemble the Cups
- Spoon a layer of pudding into each cup.
- Add a layer of crushed cookies.
- Add another layer of pudding.
- Top with banana slices.
- Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the top.
4. Chill
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving for the best texture and flavor.
Optional Variations
- Add caramel sauce between layers.
- Use crushed graham crackers instead of vanilla wafers.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over the top.
- Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
Storage
- Keep refrigerated for up to 2 days.
- For the freshest appearance, add banana slices just before serving.
