cinnamon honey fried bananas

Ingredients:

2 bananas, ripe but firm
2 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp butter
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Chopped nuts or shredded coconut, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds, about 1/2 inch thick.
In a small bowl, mix together the honey and ground cinnamon until well combined.
Heat the water in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the water is hot, add the honey-cinnamon mixture and stir until dissolved.
Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt, stirring to combine with the honey mixture.
Carefully add the banana slices to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bananas are lightly browned on the bottom.
Use a spatula to carefully flip the banana slices over. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side, until golden brown and caramelized.
Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the fried bananas to a serving plate.
Serve the cinnamon honey fried bananas warm, either on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top. Garnish with chopped nuts or shredded coconut if desired.
