Crispy Air Fryer Pickles

Crispy Air Fryer Pickles

Crunchy on the outside, tangy on the inside — these air fryer pickles are the perfect snack, appetizer, or game-day treat without deep frying!

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 jar (16 oz) dill pickle chips (or spears cut into halves)

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tbsp milk

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Pickles

  • Drain pickles and pat them very dry with paper towels.
    (Important: Extra moisture prevents crispiness!)

2️⃣ Set Up Breading Station

  • Bowl 1: Add flour.

  • Bowl 2: Whisk eggs with milk.

  • Bowl 3: Mix panko, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, and salt.

3️⃣ Bread the Pickles

  • Dip each pickle slice into flour (shake off excess).

  • Dip into egg mixture.

  • Coat in seasoned panko, pressing lightly to stick.

  • Place on a plate in a single layer.

4️⃣ Air Fry

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  • Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray.

  • Arrange pickles in a single layer (do not overcrowd).

  • Spray tops lightly with oil.

  • Air fry for 7–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

🥣 Dipping Sauce Ideas

  • Ranch dressing

  • Spicy mayo (mayo + hot sauce)

  • Garlic aioli

  • Honey mustard

💡 Tips for Extra Crispy Pickles

  • Pat pickles very dry before breading.

  • Use panko instead of regular breadcrumbs.

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket.

  • Serve immediately for best crunch.

🌶️ Optional Variations

  • Spicy: Add ½ tsp cayenne to breadcrumbs.

  • Low-Carb: Use crushed pork rinds instead of breadcrumbs.

  • Cheesy: Mix 2 tbsp grated Parmesan into the coating.
