Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken wings (split into flats & drumettes, tips removed)
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder (NOT baking soda)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked or regular)
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)

🔪 Instructions:

1. Prep Wings (Important for Crispiness)

  • Pat wings very dry with paper towels (removes moisture).
  • Place in a bowl and toss with baking powder + spices.
  • (Optional) Add a little oil for flavor.

2. Arrange

  • Line a baking tray with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  • Arrange wings in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).

3. Bake (Two-Step Method)

  • Bake at 120°C (250°F) for 30 minutes (renders fat).
  • Increase heat to 220°C (425°F) and bake another 35–45 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Flip halfway through for even crispiness.

🍯 Optional Sauces:

🔥 Buffalo Style:

  • ¼ cup hot sauce
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

🍯 Honey Garlic:

  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

👉 Toss hot wings in sauce before serving.


🍽️ Serve:

  • With ranch or blue cheese dip
  • Add celery & carrot sticks

  • Baking powder is the secret to crispy skin (it dries the surface)
  • Don’t skip the low-temp step—it makes a big difference
