Crispy Broccoli Cheese Bites
📝 Ingredients:
- 2 cups broccoli florets (finely chopped)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (regular or panko)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (or oat flour for healthier option)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing or frying)
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Prepare Broccoli
- Steam or boil broccoli for 2–3 minutes until slightly soft.
- Drain well and chop very finely (remove excess water!).
2. Make the Mixture
- In a bowl, mix:
- Broccoli
- Cheese
- Egg
- Breadcrumbs
- Flour
- Garlic
- All spices
- Mix until it forms a thick, moldable mixture.
3. Shape
- Take small portions and shape into balls or small patties.
4. Cook (Choose Method)
👉 Frying (crispiest):
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Fry on medium heat until golden brown (3–4 minutes each side).
👉 Baking (healthier):
- Preheat oven to 200°C
- Place on lined tray, brush with oil
- Bake 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
👉 Air Fryer (best balance):
- Air fry at 180°C for 12–15 minutes
- Shake/flip halfway
