📝 Ingredients

For the Cake Batter:

  • 2 cups milk 🥛
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup semolina (sooji)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

For Topping:

  • 2–3 tbsp sugar (for crispy top)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

🔪 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare Batter

  • In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until light.
  • Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla—mix well.
  • Add semolina, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Mix into a smooth batter.
  • Let it rest for 10–15 minutes (so semolina softens).

2️⃣ Bake

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Grease a baking dish and pour in batter.
  • Sprinkle sugar evenly on top (this creates the crispy crust).
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.

3️⃣ Cool & Cut

  • Let it cool completely.
  • Cut into square pieces like in the picture.
