Garlic Brown Sugar Baked Chicken Thighs

Ingredients
- 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, melted butter, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.
- Arrange the chicken thighs skin-side up in the baking dish.
- Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over each piece, making sure to coat all sides.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, basting once halfway through with the pan juices.
- Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) or broil for 2–4 minutes until the skin is deep golden brown and slightly caramelized.
- Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then spoon the flavorful pan sauce over the top and garnish with chopped parsley.
