🥘 Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Garlic Butter
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Pinch of salt
Sandwich
- 4 brioche buns or sandwich rolls
- 4 slices cheddar, provolone, or mozzarella cheese
- 4 lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg)
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- Pickle slices (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for 20–30 minutes.
2. Grill the Chicken
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for 6–7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). During the last minute, place a slice of cheese on each chicken breast and let it melt. Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes.
3. Make the Garlic Butter
Mix softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
4. Toast the Buns
Spread garlic butter on the cut sides of the buns. Toast them in a skillet or under the broiler for 2–3 minutes, until golden and crisp.
5. Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise (and Dijon mustard, if using) on the toasted buns. Layer with lettuce, grilled chicken, tomato slices, and pickle slices if desired. Place the top bun on and gently press together.
6. Serve
Serve immediately with French fries, potato wedges, coleslaw, or a fresh garden salad.
