A light, nourishing broth with miso, ginger, garlic, and lemon — perfect for detoxing, boosting immunity, or sipping on chilly days.

🛒 Ingredients (Makes ~4 cups)

🔹 Broth Base

  • 4 cups water or low-sodium vegetable broth

  • 2–3 tbsp white or yellow miso paste

  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced thin or grated

  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed or minced

  • Juice of 1 lemon (plus extra for serving)

  • 1–2 tsp coconut aminos or low-sodium soy sauce (optional, for depth)

  • ½ tsp turmeric (optional, for extra anti-inflammatory boost)

  • ¼ tsp black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)

🔹 Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 scallion, sliced

  • ½ cup spinach or kale for extra greens

  • ½ tsp chili flakes for heat

  • ½ tsp sesame oil for flavor

  • Fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Broth

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water or vegetable broth to a gentle simmer.

  2. Add ginger, garlic, turmeric, and black pepper. Simmer 5–10 minutes to infuse flavor.

2️⃣ Add Miso

  • Remove the broth from heat (important — miso should not boil, or it loses probiotics).

  • Whisk in miso paste until fully dissolved.

3️⃣ Finish with Lemon & Seasoning

  • Stir in lemon juice and coconut aminos or soy sauce if using.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning.

4️⃣ Optional Add-Ins

  • Add leafy greens, scallions, or chili flakes.

  • Serve warm with a drizzle of sesame oil or sprinkle of fresh herbs.

🔥 Healing & Flavor Tips

  • Ginger aids digestion and reduces inflammation.

  • Lemon adds vitamin C and a bright flavor.

  • Turmeric + black pepper enhance anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Miso provides probiotics for gut health.

🧊 Storage

  • Store in airtight container in fridge up to 3 days.

  • Reheat gently — avoid boiling to preserve miso’s beneficial enzymes.
