Mediterranean Ginger Water

🧾 Ingredients
1 liter (4 cups) water
5–7 cm (2–3 inch) fresh ginger root
1 lemon (organic if possible)
6–8 fresh mint leaves
1 small cinnamon stick (optional)
1–2 tsp honey (optional)
A few cucumber slices (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the ginger
Wash ginger well.
Peel lightly (optional).
Slice thinly or grate for stronger flavor.
2️⃣ Infuse
Hot method (stronger, traditional)
Bring water to a boil.
Add ginger and cinnamon stick.
Simmer gently for 10 minutes.
Turn off heat, add mint.
Cover and steep 5 minutes.
Cold method (lighter, refreshing)
Add ginger, mint, lemon slices, and cucumber to a jug.
Pour cold water over.
Refrigerate 4–8 hours.
3️⃣ Finish
Strain if desired.
Add lemon juice or slices.
Sweeten with honey if using.
