Purple Cabbage Health Drink

Ingredients

  • 1 small purple cabbage
  • 4–5 cups water
  • 1–2 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lemon (optional)
  • 1 small piece ginger (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the purple cabbage thoroughly.
  2. Chop it into small pieces.
  3. Add cabbage and water to a blender.
  4. Blend until smooth and vibrant purple.
  5. Strain using a fine sieve or cheesecloth for a smoother drink.
  6. Pour into a pot and simmer for 5–10 minutes (optional if you want longer shelf life).
  7. Let cool completely.
  8. Add honey/sugar and lemon juice if desired.
  9. Pour into sterilized bottles and refrigerate.

To Serve

  • Shake before drinking.
  • Serve chilled or over ice.

Optional Fermented Version

For a probiotic-style drink:

  1. Add 1 tablespoon sugar after blending.
  2. Store in a sealed glass bottle for 24–48 hours at room temperature.
  3. Refrigerate once slightly fizzy.
