Quick Greek Chicken Gyros
🧾 Overview
Tender marinated chicken cooked quickly in a pan or air fryer, served in warm Pita bread with fresh vegetables and creamy tzatziki-style sauce.
🛒 Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
🍗 Chicken
- 2 chicken breasts or thighs (sliced thin)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder (or 2 cloves fresh garlic)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- Salt & black pepper
- Juice of ½ lemon
🫓 Wrap Base
- 3–4 Pita bread (warmed)

- 1 cup lettuce (shredded)
- 1 tomato (sliced)
- ½ cucumber (sliced)
- ¼ red onion (thinly sliced)
🥣 Quick Tzatziki Sauce
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 1 small cucumber (grated & squeezed dry)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- Optional: dill or mint
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Marinate Chicken
- Mix chicken with olive oil, garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and lemon juice
- Let sit for 10–15 minutes (or longer if you have time)
2. Cook Chicken (Quick Method)
Pan:
- Heat pan on medium-high
- Cook chicken 6–8 minutes until golden and cooked through
Air fryer:
- 190°C (375°F) for 10–12 minutes
3. Make Tzatziki
- Mix yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil
- Season with salt and pepper
- Chill if possible for better flavor
4. Warm Pita
- Heat Pita bread in a pan or oven for 1–2 minutes
5. Assemble Gyros
- Spread tzatziki on pita
- Add lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion
- Add sliced chicken
- Drizzle extra sauce on top
- Fold and serve
