  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For the Gravy

  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp cold water

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix gently until just combined and form into 4–6 thick oval patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the patties for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned. (They don’t need to be fully cooked.)
  4. Place the sliced onions and bell peppers in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  5. Arrange the browned patties on top of the vegetables.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, brown gravy mix, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, and black pepper.
  7. Pour the gravy mixture over the patties.
  8. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  9. Mix the cornstarch with cold water to make a slurry. Stir it into the slow cooker during the last 20–30 minutes of cooking to thicken the gravy.
  10. Spoon the onions, peppers, and gravy over the patties before serving.
