Total: ~30 minutes
🍽️ Makes
About 10–12 trees
🛒 Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
1 cup fresh spinach (or ½ cup frozen, thawed & squeezed dry)
½ cup cream cheese (softened)
¼ cup grated mozzarella or parmesan cheese
1 clove garlic (minced) or ½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, but great with spinach)
1 egg (for egg wash)
Wooden skewers or thick toothpicks
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the spinach filling
Finely chop the spinach.
In a bowl, mix spinach, cream cheese, grated cheese, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
2. Prepare the puff pastry
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
3. Assemble the trees
Spread the spinach mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
Cut the pastry into long triangles (tree shape), about 1–1½ inches wide at the base.
Carefully insert a skewer through the center of each triangle to act as the “tree trunk.”
Gently twist the pastry from bottom to top to create a tree-like shape.
4. Egg wash
Beat the egg and lightly brush over each tree for a golden finish.
5. Bake
Place on the baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
