Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken Wings
🥣 Ingredients:
For the chicken:
- 1 kg chicken wings (or drumettes)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oil
For the glaze:
- ⅓ cup honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp chili sauce (optional for spice 🌶️)
- 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Prep the wings
- Pat chicken dry (important for crispiness)
- Toss with salt, pepper, garlic powder, soy sauce, and oil
- Let marinate for 20–30 minutes
2. Cook the chicken
Air Fryer (best for crispy result):
- Preheat to 180°C
- Cook for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway
- Increase to 200°C for last 3–5 minutes for extra crisp
OR Oven:
- Bake at 200°C for 35–40 minutes, flipping once
3. Make the sauce
- In a pan, add honey, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, chili sauce, and vinegar
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes
- Add cornstarch slurry and cook until thick and glossy
4. Toss & finish
- Add cooked wings to the sauce
- Toss well until fully coated and sticky
✨ Optional Garnish:
- Sesame seeds
- Chopped green onions
💡 Tips:
- For extra flavor, marinate overnight
- Add a little butter to the sauce for a richer taste
- Works great in a Ninja air fryer or any standard model.
