Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

🥣 Ingredients:

For the chicken:

  • 1 kg chicken wings (or drumettes)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oil

For the glaze:

  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce (optional for spice 🌶️)
  • 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prep the wings

  • Pat chicken dry (important for crispiness)
  • Toss with salt, pepper, garlic powder, soy sauce, and oil
  • Let marinate for 20–30 minutes

2. Cook the chicken

Air Fryer (best for crispy result):

  • Preheat to 180°C
  • Cook for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway
  • Increase to 200°C for last 3–5 minutes for extra crisp

OR Oven:

  • Bake at 200°C for 35–40 minutes, flipping once

3. Make the sauce

  • In a pan, add honey, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, chili sauce, and vinegar
  • Simmer for 2–3 minutes
  • Add cornstarch slurry and cook until thick and glossy

4. Toss & finish

  • Add cooked wings to the sauce
  • Toss well until fully coated and sticky

✨ Optional Garnish:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions

💡 Tips:

  • For extra flavor, marinate overnight
  • Add a little butter to the sauce for a richer taste
  • Works great in a Ninja air fryer or any standard model.
