Honey Glazed Chicken
Ingredients (Serves 4)
Chicken
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
(or thighs for juicier results)Salt and black pepper, to taste
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons olive oil
Honey Glaze
⅓ cup honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional but adds depth)
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water (for thickening, optional)
Instructions
Season the chicken
Pat chicken dry. Season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.Sear the chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add chicken and sear for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).
Remove chicken and set aside.Make the glaze
Lower heat to medium. In the same skillet, add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, Dijon, and red pepper flakes.
Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes.Thicken (optional)
Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook 30–60 seconds until glossy and thick.Glaze the chicken
Return chicken to the pan. Spoon glaze over chicken and simmer 2–3 minutes, turning to coat evenly.Serve
Spoon extra glaze over chicken before serving.
Oven-Baked Option
Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
Sear chicken 2–3 minutes per side.
Transfer to baking dish, pour glaze over top.
Bake 15–20 minutes, basting halfway.
Tips & Variations
Asian-inspired: Add 1 teaspoon grated ginger and sesame oil
Spicy honey chicken: Increase red pepper flakes or add sriracha
Crispy version: Dredge chicken lightly in cornstarch before searing
Slow cooker: Cook on LOW 4–5 hours, add glaze last 30 minutes
