Cinnamon Sugar Butter Cake Bars

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (120 ml) whole milk

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

1. Prepare the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Make the Batter

  1. Beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3–4 minutes).
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Mix in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until combined.

3. Bake

  1. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  2. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

4. Add the Cinnamon Sugar

  1. While the cake is still warm, brush the top with the melted butter.
  2. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
  3. Sprinkle evenly over the cake.

5. Cool and Serve

  • Let cool for about 20 minutes.
  • Cut into 16 squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
