🧾 Ingredients
2 large onions, finely chopped
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¾ cup milk
1 large egg
Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Prepare the onions
Peel and finely chop the onions. Set aside.Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.Add wet ingredients
Stir in milk and egg until a thick batter forms.Fold in onions
Add chopped onions to the batter and mix until evenly coated.Heat the oil
Pour oil into a deep skillet to about ½ inch deep.
Heat over medium heat until hot (a drop of batter should sizzle).Fry the fritters
Drop batter by heaping tablespoons into the hot oil.
Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon.
Fry 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Drain
Remove fritters and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
