Cheesesteak Garlic Bread Loaf
Ingredients
Garlic Bread
1 large French bread or Italian loaf
4 tbsp butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp salt
Cheesesteak Filling
1 lb thinly sliced beef (ribeye, sirloin, or shaved steak)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
½ tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Cheese
8–10 slices provolone cheese
(or shredded mozzarella/cheese sauce if preferred)
Instructions
Preheat oven
Preheat to 375°F (190°C)
Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment
Prepare garlic bread
Slice the loaf lengthwise
Mix butter, garlic, parsley, garlic powder, and salt
Spread evenly over both halves
Bake cut-side up for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden
Cook the veggies
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat
Sauté onions, peppers, and mushrooms until soft (5–7 minutes)
Remove from pan and set aside
Cook the steak
In the same skillet, add the beef
Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce
Cook until just browned (2–4 minutes)
Add veggies back in and mix
Assemble
Spoon steak mixture evenly over garlic bread
Top with provolone slices, overlapping slightly
Bake
Return to oven and bake 10–12 minutes, until cheese is melted
Broil for 1–2 minutes if you want bubbly, golden cheese
Serve
Slice and serve hot
Optional Add-Ins & Tips
Add banana peppers or jalapeños for heat
Swap provolone for Cheez Whiz for a classic Philly twist
Use garlic cheese bread instead of plain garlic bread for extra flavor
Great with a side of marinara or cheese sauce for dipping
