Creamy Chicken Salad with Fresh Dill

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

For the salad:

  • 3 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded (about 2–3 breasts)

  • ½ cup celery, finely chopped

  • ⅓ cup red onion, finely diced

  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped

  • ¼ cup toasted almonds or pecans (optional)

  • ½ cup seedless red or green grapes, halved (optional)

For the creamy dressing:

  • ¾ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons sour cream or plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  1. Prepare the chicken
    Use rotisserie, poached, baked, or leftover chicken. Let cool completely before mixing.

  2. Make the dressing
    In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream (or yogurt), lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.

  3. Combine the salad
    In a large bowl, add chicken, celery, red onion, fresh dill, and any optional ingredients. Pour dressing over the mixture.

  4. Mix gently
    Stir until evenly coated. Adjust salt, pepper, or lemon juice to taste.

  5. Chill
    Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
