Fresh Watermelon Juice Concentrate
Ingredients
- 1 large watermelon (about 8–10 cups cubed)
- 1/2 cup sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice
- 1/2 cup water (optional, for blending)
- Ice cubes for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Watermelon
- Cut the watermelon into cubes.
- Remove seeds if needed.
2. Blend
- Add watermelon cubes to a blender.
- Blend until completely smooth.
- Add a little water if the mixture is too thick.
3. Strain
- Pour the juice through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pot.
- Press gently to extract all the juice.
4. Sweeten
- Stir in sugar or honey.
- Add lemon or lime juice for freshness.
5. Chill & Bottle
- Refrigerate until cold.
- Pour into clean bottles or jars.
To Serve
- Shake well before serving.
- Pour over ice for a refreshing summer drink.
Optional Variations
- Add fresh mint leaves while blending.
- Mix with sparkling water for watermelon soda.
- Add strawberries for extra fruity flavor.
- Freeze into popsicles.
Storage
- Store refrigerated for up to 4–5 days.
- Keep in sealed bottles or jars.
