Ginger-Lemon Honey Tonic
A zesty, warming, and soothing drink that’s great for immunity, digestion, and energy.
🛒 Ingredients (Makes ~2 servings)
1–2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and grated (~1–2 tbsp)
2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
¼ small onion, finely grated
Juice of 1 lemon (about 2–3 tbsp)
1–2 tsp raw honey (adjust to taste)
2 cups hot water (not boiling, ~180°F / 82°C)
Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper or turmeric for extra punch
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare Ingredients
Peel and finely grate ginger, garlic, and onion.
Juice the lemon.
2️⃣ Make the Tonic
Place ginger, garlic, and onion in a mug or heatproof jar.
Pour hot water over the mixture. Let steep 5–10 minutes.
Strain into another cup if you prefer a smooth drink.
3️⃣ Add Flavor & Sweetness
Stir in lemon juice and honey while the liquid is warm (not boiling) to preserve honey’s beneficial enzymes.
Optional: add a pinch of cayenne or turmeric for extra warmth and anti-inflammatory benefits.
4️⃣ Serve
Drink warm, 1–2 times per day.
Can also refrigerate for 1 day and gently reheat before drinking.
