homemade strawberry lemonade

Ingredients:

1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 4-6 lemons)
1 cup granulated sugar (adjust according to taste)
4 cups cold water
Ice cubes
Fresh strawberries and lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Place the halved strawberries in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
Strain the strawberry puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove the seeds. You should have about 1 cup of strawberry juice.
In the pitcher, combine the strawberry juice, freshly squeezed lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cold water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Taste the strawberry lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice as desired.
Refrigerate the strawberry lemonade for at least 1 hour to chill and allow the flavors to meld.
When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled strawberry lemonade over the ice.
Garnish each glass with fresh strawberry slices and lemon wedges, if desired.
Stir well before serving.
