Mediterranean Ground Beef Bowl with Creamy Hot Honey Feta Sauce

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

🥩 Mediterranean Ground Beef

  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef (85–90%)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (if beef is very lean)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ small red onion, finely diced

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp ground coriander

  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley


🍯 Creamy Hot Honey Feta Sauce

  • ¾ cup crumbled feta cheese

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1½–2 tbsp honey

  • 1–2 tsp hot sauce (or ½ tsp red pepper flakes)

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1–3 tbsp warm water (to thin)

  • Pinch black pepper


🍚 Base Options

Choose one:

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice

  • 2 cups cooked quinoa

  • 4 cups chopped romaine (for low-carb option)


🥗 Fresh Toppings

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1 cup diced cucumber

  • ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion

  • ¼ cup kalamata olives, sliced

  • ½ cup canned chickpeas, rinsed and drained

  • Extra chopped parsley or fresh dill

  • Optional: hummus or tzatziki


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Creamy Hot Honey Feta Sauce

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine feta, Greek yogurt, honey, hot sauce, lemon juice, zest, olive oil, and pepper.

  2. Blend until smooth.

  3. Add warm water gradually until the sauce is creamy and drizzleable.

  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or heat. Refrigerate until ready to use.


2️⃣ Cook the Mediterranean Ground Beef

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil if needed.

  2. Sauté red onion for 2–3 minutes until softened.

  3. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.

  4. Add ground beef and break apart with a spatula.

  5. Stir in oregano, cumin, paprika, coriander, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and tomato paste.

  6. Cook 6–8 minutes until browned and fully cooked.

  7. Stir in lemon juice and fresh parsley. Remove from heat.


3️⃣ Assemble the Bowls

  1. Add rice or quinoa to each bowl.

  2. Spoon warm ground beef over the base.
